Bengaluru, India –9th September: Binance Charity, the world’s first blockchain-powered donation platform, worked with Vaibhav Chabbra of Mumbai’s Makers Asylum, a collaborative makerspace, to distribute over 43,000 face shields to front line healthcare professionals, policemen and railway workers across 30+ hospitals, police stations and NGOs in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Goa.
“Front-line workers are risking their own lives while they save ours. In the past three months, the Crypto Against COVID campaign has delivered over 2 million units of personal protective equipment to such heroes in over 20 countries globally, via Binance Charity’s transparent, blockchain-enabled platform. It’s important we support healthcare workers, along with policemen and other professionals who work day and night to protect us!” – said Helen Hai, Head of Binance Charity
From June to August 2020, Binance Charity donated 33,500 USD (25 lakhs INR) to supply 10,000 N95 masks to Safdarjung Hospital & V.M.M.C. and 35,500 USD (26 lakhs INR) to produce and distribute face shields all over India. Totaling to 53,000+ protective equipment distributed in India under the pandemic relief efforts in the past 3 months.
