Bison Trails has announced support for the Celo open network enabling smartphone users to send crypto directly to a phone number instead of a blockchain address.
Users will now be able to transfer value using Celo’s stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar on the Bison Trails platform.
Aaron Henshaw, co-founder and CTO of Bison Trails stated:
“Bison Trails has strong relationships with the Celo team: we’re members of the Celo Alliance for Prosperity and are very familiar with Celo’s progress from working closely with their team since the earliest days of the protocol’s development. We have a unique perspective on the Celo protocol and ecosystem.”
The Celo tech system has three layers:
Celo Blockchain
Celo Core Contracts
Application
Henshaw praised Celo’s initial design choice, which uses Earned Value Management (EVM) and the Go-Ethereum protocol for their underlying node system.
Henshaw said the integration of Celo onto the Bison Trails platform will help secure and strengthen the network:
“We aim to set the standard for security, reliability, and quality on the Celo network with the validators and groups that we run. Our infrastructure platform easily spins up nodes in multiple cloud providers and regions for our customers. We diversify Celo’s block production infrastructure which strengthens the network.”
