Hong Kong-headquartered crypto exchange Bitfinex now enables users to purchase cryptocurrencies with both credit and debit cards.
On Dec. 20 an announcement was made by the exchange saying:
“Buy cryptocurrencies with your debit or credit cards on Bitfinex. Whether it’s Bitcoin, USDt, Ethereum, or any other ERC20 tokens, pick your favorite and purchase with your credit or debit cards directly.”

Recently, Bitfinex and crypto store Bitrefill partnered to allow trading and shopping with Bitcoin over the Lightning Network.
The companies attribute the development to the “world’s first dynamic B2B settlement process over the Lightning Network.” Bitrefill users can now instantly pay for a variety of services with Bitcoin that they hold on the exchange as of today.
Crypto Powered Debit Card
Meanwhile, bitFlyer the Tokyo-based cryptocurrency exchange announced the launch of ‘Instant Buy’ on its European exchange platform.
Instant Buy will provide its European users the ability to buy cryptocurrency by using a credit card, debit card and local instant transfer methods like Sofort, iDeal, and GiroPay.

Coinbase Card from major crypto exchange Coinbase now supports Dai (DAI), a stablecoin pegged to the United States dollar.
Dai is the first stablecoin available on Coinbase Card, alongside major cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC)
Coinbase Card is a Visa debit card that allows cryptocurrencies transactions to pay for goods as well as to withdraw cash from ATMs. It’s a crypto-powered debit card that instantly converts customers’ crypto into fiat currency.
