IoDF Makes Its Second Appearance At Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week

The Institute of Digital Fashion (IoDF) makes its second appearance at Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW), scheduled from March 28 to March 31, 2023.

It has been reported that IoDF has a one of a kind showcase at the fashion festival, featuring a collaboration with British designer Bradley Sharpe, known for pushing the boundaries of physical fashion, into the metaverse for the first time ever.

However, the event aims to celebrate both physical and virtual fashion around the world. It showcases cutting-edge technology in the industry. Big brands like Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, and Adidas are also at the event. The 2023 MVFW features runway shows, immersive experiences, shopping, and afterparties.

The report said that this year, IoDF uses the digital fashion moment to celebrate new talent and build a more sustainable fashion future. They also invite creators, collectors, designers, and enthusiasts to join the digital revolution.

Likewise, to encourage this, the Decentraland showspace will have two luxury wearables:

· The IoDF Emblem 001 Skin: The IoDF Emblem 001 Skin, from the IoDF: Emblem Series collection, asks the question, “At the end of the world, do you need more clothes?“.

· The Mourning Gown by Bradley Sharpe: The Mourning Gown, from the AW23 ‘Something in the Air’ collection by Bradley Sharpe, is a Victoriana Tech-inspired gown with gathered sleeves and hood.

Only 100 editions of each are available on the Decentraland marketplace. Both statements aim to provoke debate and discourse on the environmental impact of fast fashion. Both collections bring to light the sustainable potential of the virtual world. IoDF’s foundational ethos statement is celebrated through an MVFW experience that is scannable through a QR code. The code takes users to the ’emblem for change series’ NFT site, which unlocks an AR billboard compatible with any landscape.

This allows users worldwide to participate in the discourse on sustainable fashion, making the moment accessible to all.

The official press release from IoDF stated:

“PARIS, MILANO, NEW YORK, LONDON, AND NOW, DECENTRALAND—HIGH FASHION HAS GONE VIRTUAL!”

Thus, for those wondering what to wear during the MVFW, IoDF’s latest NFT wearable on DressX is available, with utilities for a Decentraland skin version of IoDF’s The Fashion Awards 2022 digital garment available with the Tier 2 NFT.
