Photogenics, the Los Angeles-based modeling agency, has announced the launch of a Metaverse avatar division. Photogenics is an art-driven model agency, now they are taking the modeling industry to a whole new level with this latest move.
It has been reported that Photogenics is the first brand to come up with this beautiful idea. This new concept will help models monetize their careers beyond the physical world. It also stated that it is looking to venture more into the metaverse and NFT space.
However, to achieve the goals of its newest division, Photogenics partnered with Nina Hawkins of Lilium Labs and 3D filmmaker Sage Morei of Horizon Lab. Photogenics is set to make its debut with 13 avatar models. Some notable models on the list are Sedona Legge, Milan Dixon, Dasha Nguyen, and The Fly Twins.
The report said that the process of creating an avatar starts with a face scan that takes less than 10 minutes. Then, the creators of 3D portrait edit, fine-tune, and export. This latter part may take a few months. The modeling industry is tough. Models may have the right ‘look’ forever, but their metaverse avatars can.
Likewise, by using avatar models, models can extend their brand into the virtual world where they will not be affected by changing trends, in turn giving their careers more longevity. Models are now provided with more avenues to profit from their careers. There is an increase in the daily rates of real-life models.
The Photogenics avatar division provides a lot of help to other brands looking to use the services of models in the metaverse. This might be for the purpose of modeling wearables or shoots in the metaverse.
Thus, fashion brands are at the forefront of leveraging the many opportunities the metaverse presents.
