Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of the online social platform Reddit, has announced his planned actions to fight against racism, as these include his desire to see a member of the black community replace him at his current board position.
In a June 5 tweet, Ohanian posted:
“I’ve resigned as a member of the reddit board, I have urged them to fill my seat with a black candidate.”
I've resigned as a member of the reddit board, I have urged them to fill my seat with a black candidate, + I will use future gains on my Reddit stock to serve the black community, chiefly to curb racial hate, and I’m starting with a pledge of $1M to @kaepernick7’s @yourrightscamp — Alexis Ohanian Sr. 🚀 (@alexisohanian) June 5, 2020
However, over the past week and a half, cities across the US have seen protests, with some cities also experiencing rioting and looting in response to the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minnesota police officer.
Ohanian said:
“I will use future gains on my Reddit stock to serve the black community, chiefly to curb racial hate.”
He added by referring to the former NFL player’s youth campaign:
“I’m starting with a pledge of $1M to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp.”
It has been analyzed that one of the main hubs for crypto discussion, Ohanian’s Reddit is home to a number of forums for discussion on various crypto projects.

Among many others, forums r/cryptocurrency and r/bitcoin, yield active crypto-related conversation, with r/bitcoin achieving the 1 million subscribers count in late 2018.
Likewise, Ohanian himself has direct crypto involvement, as one of his funds put $5 million toward a blockchain game project.
Thus, the Reddit co-founder made Bitcoin and Ethereum price predictions in July 2018 by calling for Bitcoin and Ethereum to return to their all-time price high ranges.
