Tron Decentralized Apps (DApps) recently announced that it will be featured in the Samsung Galaxy Store, as Tron is extending its partnership with Samsung Blockchain as a new section featuring some blockchain games, which will be offered on its mobile devices.
On April 27, it has been reported that owners of Samsung smartphones in specific countries will see Tron DApps in an alternative app store. Samsung, one of the world’s largest technology brands, had added the Tron dApps to its Blockchain Keystore. From now on Samsung Galaxy S10 users had access to TRON dApps.
Justin Sun, Founder of Tron Foundation and CEO of Bittorrent, talks about the integration of TRON on the Samsung Blockchain Keystore in a recent interview with Forbes.
“This era is young and not ready for everyone yet which is why we have smaller developers like CryptoKitties now. Now we are partners with Samsung Blockchain, the number 1 brand in technology. Samsung devices are available to almost everyone in the world. They don’t even have to install a wallet anymore. Why shouldn’t Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus follow suit?”– Justin Sun, Founder, Tron Foundation
However, Tron and its tokens were already supported by Samsung’s Blockchain Keystore, which stores private keys in a secure memory compartment, and the integration was announced alongside Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
Specified by Tron, the Samsung store will feature “applications like Blockchain Cuties, Super Player, Meerkat Mining, and Timeloop.” Blockchain Cuties is a multi-platform game that reports having more users on Ethereum Blockchain, though it sees more transactions on Tron.
Congratulations to @Tronfoundation on making another huge step towards mass adoption!@Samsung is now featuring #TRON #dApps in Samsung Galaxy Store. It has been analyzed that the remaining two apps are not present on any DApp aggregation platform. Even if this is not an exhaustive list, it is not clear what basis will be followed after including DApps.
Likewise, the Samsung Galaxy Store itself is an alternative app store for Samsung devices. Besides general Android apps found on Google Play Store, it features many custom-tailored apps for the Korean company’s devices.
“This is the beginning of a new era. Just imagine: after Samsung and all the phone manufacturers begin to integrate blockchain technology infrastructures, applications that may include blockchain or cryptocurrencies will pop up everywhere,” – Justin Sun, Founder, Tron Foundation
In terms of volume, however, the Just DApp has shot up the charts with over $3.5 million in transacted value.

As per the report, these DApps will be available on Samsung devices in the United States, Canada, South Korea, Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, and “some countries in Europe.” Thus, it also appears that the availability is not universal in those markets, with Tron denying that availability “varies by carrier, market, and device.”
For TRON, being one of the pioneers for Samsung to prove the worth of chasing this blockchain dream, there is a lot of pressure, and a lot of pride, but only time will tell in the overall growth and adoption of the space through mobile devices.
